Estimate Templates are used in the Estimate application to create templates that group functions together to facilitate the estimating process. When an Estimate Template is selected in Estimate, all functions associated with the code are automatically inserted into the Estimate along with any other details stored within the template.
Functions must be previously be set up in the Function application (Advantage | Maintenance | Accounting | Functions). A single function can be used in more than one present Estimate Template.

Select Maintenance from the menu, then Project Management from the Main Menu. Select Estimate Template to open the Estimate Template Maintenance application.
Upon entering the Estimate Template Maintenance application, all defined Estimate Templates will display on the first tab, sorted by Estimate Code. The second tab includes the selected Estimate Template Detail information.
To add a new Estimate Template, enter the following information on the first (empty) row in the grid:
Code - A unique code to identify the Estimate Template, containing up to 6 characters.
Description - Enter a description of the Estimate Template, containing up to 30 characters.
Default Estimate Comment - Enter a default comment for the Estimate Template. When a function is selected from the Estimate Template, the Default Comment will be inserted into the Estimate Comment (In the Estimate Header Comment, not in the Estimate Quote Comment section).
It multiple quotes or functions added using multiple Estimate Templates, it will add (concatenate) the default comment to the existing comment. It will not overwrite the Estimate Comment.
Inactive - If an Estimate Template is no longer in use, it may be marked as Inactive. Inactive Estimate Templates will no longer be available for selection.
When completed, click the New icon to add the new Estimate Templates. Since the Estimate Templates are sorted by the 'code', the newly added Estimate Template may not display on the initial page of the grid.
To discard the entry of a new Estimate Template, click the Cancel icon.
To add functions to an Estimate Template, select the Estimate Template from the dropdown. The Estimate Template description can be modified on the Estimate Template Detail tab. To save changes made to the description, click the Click to save all rows icon located in the column header.
To add functions to the Estimate Template Detail, enter the following information on the first (empty) row in the grid:
Function - Select, from the dropdown, the function to be included in the Estimate Template. There are three types of functions - Employee, Vendor or Income Only.
Supplied By - To assign a default employee or vendor to the function, select from the dropdown, the employee or vendor. Income Only functions does not allow a Supplied By.
Qty/Hours - Enter the standard number of hours (or quantity) an employee or vendor may contribute to the function. The total for all of the Functions' quantities/hours will be displayed at the bottom of the grid.
Multiple functions may be added with differing values for the Supplied By and Hours within an Estimate Template.
When completed, click the Click to add new row icon to add the add the function to the Estimate Template. Since the functions are initially sorted by function description, the newly added function may not display on the initial page of the grid.
To discard the entry of the new functions, click the Cancel add row icon.
To copy Estimate Template Details from another Estimate Template Detail, select the Template from the Copy Details From Template dropdown and click the Copy icon.
The Estimate Templates display in a grid, 10 records at a time. The grid's footer indicates the total number of pages that are available for viewing. Use the Change page navigational arrows to view all codes.
Save changes to the screen before using the Change page navigation.

To view Estimate Templates that are inactive, click the Show Inactive checkbox, located top right corner of application. To display just the active Estimate Templates, uncheck the Show Inactive checkbox.
The total for all of the Functions' quantities/hours for the template will be displayed at the bottom of the grid.
The only fields that can be modified are the Description and Inactive Fields. When modifying is completed, click the Save icon located on the individual Estimate Template description row.
If multiple changes have been made to the Estimate Template, to save all rows simultaneously click the Save All icon located in the column header.
To delete an Estimate Template, click the Delete icon located on the individual Estimate Template row. A message will display verifying that the Estimate Template is to be deleted. Click OK to delete the Estimate Template, otherwise click Cancel to not delete the Estimate Template.

From the Estimate Template tab, double click on the Estimate Template Code. The Estimate Templates detail's information will automatically be displayed on the Estimate Template Detail tab.
Click on the Estimate Template Detail tab and select the Estimate Template from the dropdown.

All fields on the function detail row are able to be modified. When modifying is completed, click the Save icon located on the individual function detail row.
If multiple changes have been made to the Estimate Template detail, to save all rows simultaneously click the Save All icon located in the column header.
To delete a function, click the Delete icon located on the individual function row. A message will display verifying that the function is to be deleted. Click OK to delete the function, otherwise click Cancel to not delete the function.
At least one function must be added to each Estimate Template.
If the Estimate Template is no longer in use, it can be made Inactive while viewing the Estimate Template Detail tab. Click the Inactive checkbox and click the Save All to save. To reactive the Estimate Template from the Estimate Template Detail tab, uncheck the Inactive checkbox and click the Save All to save.
To generate a report listing all Estimate Templates, click the Export to Excel icon, located top right corner of application. If the Show Inactive checkbox is selected, the report will also include all inactive Estimate Templates.
To generate a report listing all functions associated to the Estimate Template, click the Export to Excel icon, located top right corner of application.
Click on the x on Estimate Template Maintenance to exit the maintenance application.
